my birthday

So for my birthday Kristen bought me a ice cream cake, YUM, and then we went bowling with some friends! Toby bowled with me (although we didn't get a picture of that) and I pretty much rocked even while holding Toby! He was giving me bowling tips! For my birthday Toby said mom for the first time. Even though he had no idea what he was saying I'll take it as the best birthday gift he could give me at just 8 1/2 months! Toby also loves playing patty cake with me! If you want to get a smile that is what you need to do! Toby also loves to turn off light switches as long as you turn it right back on for him to turn back off! He could do this for hours and he doesn't even care if you are getting bored! :) So all in all my birthday for the first time with Toby was so much fun!

8 months

Toby is officially 8 months and won't quit growing up! He is eating solids now. He is very picky about his baby food and loves the food that mom and dad eat! He still only has 2 teeth but I'm sure that more are close!! You can make him laugh by making funny noises, fake coughing, fake sneezing and skipping. He is great at holding things now, and loves to shake things. He isn't crawling yet but loves to stand and can take steps with help.....I do hope that crawling comes before walking though! We'll keep you updated!

Florida...

The NCU girls basketball team is the reason we had our little vacation to Florida. So I wanted to show everyone what a great looking team they are! Toby loves watching them play!
We went down with Sharon and her and Toby had lots of bonding time.

Florida part II

Florida? Yeah we were there! :) Toby is a pro at flying on planes. He does so good! He loves swimming pools. The water was cold, but that didn't stop Toby from getting in an enjoying the water! We also went to the beach. Clearwater beach......what a great beach, windy but great! He wasn't sure about everything. The sand, water, wind and birds were just all to much for him. He had his confused face on the whole time. He got pretty used to seeing palm trees and he loved not having to wear a coat!

BIG First

So since Christmas so many BIG first have happened! First of all the big one is the teeth! Yes I said TEETH not TOOTH!! He got his front 2 bottom teeth! The first came on a Saturday (1-6) and the second came on the follow Monday (1-8). They are slowly coming in a little bit more each day! I finally got a good picture of them! Last night started the cycle of food. We gave him his first cereal and as you can see it wasn't his favorite! By the end though at least the faces weren't so bad! (he wore his colts bib to cheer on the colts, he was eating during their big game - which they won!) Next we have his first expereince in snow. Now he wasn't building a snowman or snow angels or anything so it's a pretty boring picture, BUT you have to have the first snow picture, right?! :) And last but not least his first bath in a BIG bathtub! No more little baby bath tub for him! (don't worry his fat stomach is hiding his junk, so it's a safe picture!) He loves bath time now. It involves toys and splashing - what's not to like about that!

Then of course I had to add just another picture of him "playing" with his toys. I mean he is a pretty cute baby so why not add another picture of him?! Enjoy!

5 months old!

Toby is getting so big! He was 5 months for christmas and such a fun age! He obviously was more interested in the wrapping paper, tissue paper, and boxes than the actual present he got! He got so many new toys and books that he has already ejoyed so much! It's so fun to watch him try to copy what you are doing! He has much more of a personality now and smiles at everything! He is such a happy baby!

BIG NEWS: We have 2 teeth that have broke through the gums now! Both front bottom teeth are able to be seen and felt. We had a couple nights of hard core crying but now we have evidence of the pain! I can't wait until the teeth come in a little bit more. He weighs 19.5 pounds now and is 28 inches long. He has gotten so much bigger than his 7 lbs 12 oz in just 5 1/2 months!

We are loving every minute we have with him!

First Thanksgiving!

For Toby's first Thanksgiving, we went to Indiana! He got to see his Uncle Chad and Josh again and of course got to play with Grandma and Grandpa Arnold! He had a great time meeting all sorts of new great-aunts and 2nd cousins he hardly slept the whole day! When we got home we put up our Christmas tree which he loves! I wanted to take a picture of him on his stomach under the tree, but when I got the camera to take the picture he had rolled over on his back! This was the first time he rolled over from one side to the other. He has been rolling from his back to his side but that has been all! It was a big step for him! He is also starting to sit up better and in no time he will be sitting up on his own! He can't wait to go back to Indiana for his first Christmas!

First Halloween

So for Toby's first halloween he was a pumpkin and a cute one at that! We took him to North Centrals halloween outreach that they have every year for the neighborhood kids. It wore Toby out! He ended up falling asleep while I was holding him after 15 mins of walking around the gym! Brian did win him a bag of candy though! (which Toby gave to some friends instead of eating it himself! :) ) He is such a good little boy! So needless to say with Toby around we had a GREAT halloween!

3 months!

So Toby is now 3 Months old and growing everyday! He loves to eat his hands, suck on anything that gets close to his mouth and he is starting to reach for things! He loves to reach for the glass of water as you are trying to drink it! We just recently introduced him to the mirror and he loves it! As soon as he sees himself he'll smile so big! He is starting to laugh now which is so great! I can't wait to see what other things he is going to start doing during this next month!

Go Twins!

We took Toby to his first Twins baseball game Oct. 1. It was the last Twins game of the regular season and it was a great one! They won and it was the day that they clenched the division too! What a great day! Toby enjoyed the game but mostly enjoyed being held and the naps that he took during the game!

Indiana

Toby took his first plane ride to Indiana back in September and got to visit Grandma and Grandpa Arnold and meet Uncle Chad for the first time! We had a great time and we got to see Uncle Josh playing a football game in the RCA dome and he scored a touchdown! (he is number 89!) It was so great! It was while we were there that he slept through a whole night for the first time. Next time he visits Indiana will be for Thanksgiving and he can't wait!
